Fire Marshal inspection required before permit issued. Type 1 vent hood testing must be witnessed by Deputy Fire Marshal for new vendors. Apply via eTRAKiT portal. Bond form required. ~5 business days for initial review. UDO zoning restrictions apply — contact Planner-on-Call at (979) 764-3858.

Beginning July 1, 2026, Texas mobile food vendors are licensed by the State of Texas / DSHS under Health & Safety Code Chapter 437B. Local jurisdictions may still enforce local laws that do not conflict with Chapter 437B, such as fire, zoning, parking, location, nuisance, or special-area rules where applicable.
