Local Operating Rules

Food permit required from Public Health (OSS, 811 Texas). Fire Marshal inspection required for propane. Food Protection Manager + Food Handler certifications required. All prep must be done in mobile unit or central prep facility.

Beginning July 1, 2026, Texas mobile food vendors are licensed by the State of Texas / DSHS under Health & Safety Code Chapter 437B. Local jurisdictions may still enforce local laws that do not conflict with Chapter 437B, such as fire, zoning, parking, location, nuisance, or special-area rules where applicable.
