Local Operating Rules

City permit + Galveston County Health District permit required. Apply 10 days before start. $200 cash bond per concession (refundable after inspection). $40/day temporary event permit available. Permits expire Dec 31. Fire regulations PDF covers extinguishers, BBQ positioning, tent flame-retardant certs, gas bottle storage.

Beginning July 1, 2026, Texas mobile food vendors are licensed by the State of Texas / DSHS under Health & Safety Code Chapter 437B. Local jurisdictions may still enforce local laws that do not conflict with Chapter 437B, such as fire, zoning, parking, location, nuisance, or special-area rules where applicable.
